Vital Options International Presents Two Programs During The Asco Cancer Conference Working To Improve Patients’ Access To The Latest Cancer Treatments

Vital Options International will present two programs to ensure that the medical advances being discussed at ASCO are made available to treat the patients who need them. ASCO 2015 in Chicago, the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, is the world’s largest cancer conference. VOI will be there as part of its Advocacy in Action® initiative to help turn medical presentations into prescriptions and the talks into treatments.

My Life is Worth It Responds to Mayo Clinic Proceedings Article on “High Cost” of Cancer Medications

Last week, an article entitled “Why Are Cancer Drugs So Expensive in the United States, and What Are the Solutions?” written by Dr. Hagop Kantarjian and Dr. S. Vincent Rajkumar was published on the Mayo Clinic Proceedings website. To patients struggling to meet their payments this may sound appealing. However, we are concerned that pushing this approach may reduce the development of innovative life-changing drugs. 

The authors of this article disregarded the value of new, innovative cancer therapies in favor of an array of misstatements and unsupported claims.
